Kira Mayo is a third-year medical student at the University of Virginia. Born and raised in New York City, she attended UVA for her undergraduate studies and played on the Inaugural Women’s Golf Team in 2003. Her dermatologic interests include: the history of dermatology, improving patient satisfaction and preventative medicine through education. Her activities and research to date include attending local schools and teaching children about skin cancer, improving patients’ quality-of-life, delving into the history of dermatology, and expanding upon physical diagnoses. When she’s not working or studying, she can be found doing any outside activities, sports and cooking.
